Background

Viper

The RIM-202 Viper is a family of modularly-designed guided missiles developed in the Federation by Imparis. Capable of being fired from air (Viper-A), land (Viper) and naval (Viper-K) platforms, the Viper system features a multistage rocket missile with a high-powered booster, and fire-and-forget capability with semi-active radar homing, laser guidance, electro-optical and/or infrared homing. It is designed to engage single and multiple targets (including tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, fortifications of various types, naval surface targets and aircraft) with single or volley fire at ranges of up to 40km and can track and destroy targets over the horizon.

Viper X

Viper X is a two-stage solid fuel radio-command-guided surface-to-air missile in a sealed ready-to-launch container tube. The missile has a bicalibre body in tandem configuration. The first stage is a booster, providing rapid acceleration within the first 3 seconds of flight, after which it is separated from the sustainer-stage. The sustainer is the highly agile part of the missile and contains a high explosive multiple continuous rod and fragmentation warhead, contact and proximity fuses as also radio transponder and laser responder to be localized for guidance. No seeker is fitted to keep target engagement costs low. Instead high-precision target and missile tracking is provided by a multi-band sensor system and guidance data is submitted via radio link. Tests of the system in 2019 have yielded a hit probability of 70–95% and have a 15-year storage lifetime in its sealed containers.

Hello there. Nice build, dude, really nice! I’m just wondering if I can join your RP as an average Air Force pilot- I’m pretty good at piloting, and not so good at building planes... yet.

@altaccount Lol, sorry about that... it’s kinda extremely heavy because of some center of mass vs center of lift issues.
