The Helios is a heavy plasma boltgun battery that is designed to be mounted on large capital ships such as battleships and dreadnoughts. Like most plasma boltguns, the Helios fires superheavy slugs filled with liquid plasma that gets agitated during the firing process via electromagnetic rails or coils at high velocity, dealing severe impact and splash damage to both the exterior and interior of its target. What sets it apart from other plasma boltguns, however, is it's triple-barrel design, which allows it to maximize it's damage output. The drawback of using the Helios is its size, making it impossible to mount on starships less than 300m in length, and it also lacks an internal power plant, making it dependent on it's parent ship's power supply, and like all plasma boltguns, it has a ridiculously high power consumption rate. Continuum Navy capital warships that fit in the specified criteria are scheduled to be refitted with these new weapons, and all upcoming Gen. 3 capital ships will come equipped with Helios plasma boltguns as standard.

Well, I was looking for an octuple-mount super-heavy kinetically augmented supercharged turbolaser. I think I'm gonna have to shorten that name. Maybe octuple-mount SH/KA/SC turbolaser? Nevermind...
