Takhion - Russian Tactical UAV

0 Mig31k1  19 hours ago

The Takhion is a Russian short-range reconnaissance and artillery correction unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) built around a flying-wing airframe. Featuring no fuselage or conventional tail surfaces, it relies on integrated control surfaces at the wingtips for pitch, roll, and yaw—ensuring compactness, low acoustic signature.
Equipped with an electro-optical payload and real-time datalink, the Takhion provides frontline units with immediate situational awareness, target acquisition, and battle damage assessment.
Combat Use: The UAV has been operationally deployed by Russian forces during the Special Military Operation (SVO) in Ukraine. Its quiet electric propulsion, small radar cross-section, and ability to loiter at low altitudes make it effective for forward reconnaissance, detecting enemy positions, adjusting artillery fire, and monitoring dynamic sectors of the frontline—particularly in complex terrain and urban environments.
