Enjoy this WWI Classic!

My DH4 modified with floats.

Painted in the colors of the only flying DH.4 today, which has a U.S. Air Mail design.

The Airco DH.4 was designed by Mr. de Havilland for Airco. It’s intended use was for military, however some were used for air mail services. Used heavily by the U.S. and Royal Army, the DH.4 was a heavy WWI bomber. France did use the plane, but not as much as the other two nations. However, there was firepower. The pilot had a machine gun, and the observer had a smaller “Lewis gun.” After the war, many were converted for air mail. Around 10,000 units were made and each cost around $11,000. Not bad, I’d buy one if they were still around!
