X-1997 Akalite - Dive Version

1,894 UmbyTheZombeonYT  7.2 years ago

DO NOT MODIFY, OR THE DIVING FEATURE WILL BREAK! Check Basic Actions for controls.

The X-1997 Akalite is a Fission Powered Submarine, designed to prone depths greater than 5 miles deep. Though at the time of forge to first launch and test, it was said to be perfectly set for deep water, it experienced a pressure breach at 280 feet in the primary control unit of the Fission Reactor onboard, which required an emergency beaching of the submarine on the Ionium Islands to prevent sea water contamination. About 8 years later, the flaw was repaired, and the submarine successfully navigated a deep under sea trench at 7.5 miles deep, crew unharmed.

-=Features=-
Diving has arrived! (Finally, see Basic Actions)
Maneuverability harshly lowered...still useable though.
Relocated some engines to prevent engine drowning.
Relocated Cockpit.
Redistributed weight for multiple reasons.

-=Issues + Possible Fixes=-
Can strife if it starts rocking side to side. (Turn your throttle all the way down, and turn off Dive Mode to stop it.)
The bow will pop up after a few seconds, descend, and pop up again. (If I try to fix it, the sub will start to bounce out of control in the water. Just turn off dive mode for a moment, then turn it back on.)
Turning is very slow. (Use Group 3, but don't touch the VTOL, it'll somewhat speed up turns.)
Forward movement is slow compared to the other version. (Caused by the weight that was needed for the balance. One of the parts is XML Modded to be 25 times its standard weight. Can not be fixed.)
Modifying/Adding parts bugs/break the diving feature. (Can NOT be fixed...which really sucks. You can undo your modifications to kinda fix it yourself, otherwise, delete it, and reinsert the sub.)

CREDITS ARE REQUIRED AND ARE LISTED HERE
ChasingHorizon: Guns
Halphas: Radar Units

-=BASIC ACTIONS=-
Group 1 = Torpedoes
Group 2 + VTOL + Trim = Upper Deck Guns
Group 3 + VTOL Full Down = Dive Mode (NOT PERFECT, but it works)
Group 3 + VTOL Full Up = Flip the Sub (NOT RECOMMENDED, IT WILL NOT UNFLIP ONCE FLIPPED, unless you restart, or pick a spawn location.)
Roll = Slow Turning
Roll + Dive Mode No VTOL = Somewhat Faster Turning
Yaw = Used to be for slow turning, now it's useless...still works, but useless.

-=Extra Notes=-
My first submarine can dive now...ish, not really good cause it really tears apart the overall movement...but hey, it's my first Submarine...and my first creation capable of diving. It's literally almost impossible for me to describe the frustration and anger I went through to build the dive feature without swearing my butt off, but of course, ya can't swear on this website.

I will NOT modify this sub any further, its current setup is easy to ruin if modified in ANY way...at least it has infinite fuel, and pre-inserted weapons. Weapons are still usable, though the deck guns are not tested for dive mode firing, you can try it...just don't expect it to be perfect.

@EliteIndustries1 I'll take that into thought, thanks. I use 2 in-game XML Mods, so I guess I can use another advanced building mod.

@EliteIndustries1 That's pretty much all I did, but I only modified weight with that idea...to keep overall balance, which I'm still new at Sub building, so I need to make more subs to get a better grip on them.
