The Grumman Stepvan was a multi-purpose unit in the NYPD, used by multiple divisions such as Highway Patrol, Emergency Service Unit, Communications, and many others. For unknown reasons, the NYPD decided to retire most of these Stepvans, whether it be the fact that most were lacking modern equipment, or the fact that most were aging, the Stepvans were at the end of an era.
