Per request for a Cold War Aircraft, this model is tweaked from my prior designs. This MACH 3 Fictional aircraft was faster than fighters attempting interception, and dropped nukes on cities in the 1964 Sidney Lumet movie Fail Safe. A nasty and extremely survivable fictional Cold War aircraft.

50.4k StingrayThe engine arrangement follows the GD B58 Hustler, but the wing is custom-built for the speeds this model reaches. Thx @Jettison9.6 years ago

2,705 JettisonJust saying, I wouldn't call it fictional as there is a similar plane that existed during the Cold War called "V bomber". It was a British made bomber that was designed to perform like a fighter and drop reasonable payloads (if I remember correctly) @Stingray9.6 years ago

50.4k Stingrayglad you liked @hypnotoad This is the only delta I've done that holds together easily at Mach 3+ (notice most of it is structural wing, not conventional tails/wings). Deltas are tricky, yes!9.6 years ago

38.8k hypnotoadLove the full on delta wing configuration. I have tried to build one of these but it was very difficult. This is a really nice example, and you know by now that I like this style :) all the best dude9.6 years ago

50.4k StingrayThx @guppy11702 Only thrust and stick control are required. The pure delta wing was tricky to build, but represents technology of that era.9.6 years ago

95 Guppy11702Haha cool aircraft! When I first launched it and hit 1 I noticed if all engines are supposed to launch or only a few. Anyways, awesome plane!9.6 years ago
