The Grushin Gr-1 (IDS) (Russian: ?????? ??-1 (???) ) was a heavy escort fighter designed and built by P. D. Grushin in 1941. Its competitors were the Polikarpov TIS, Tairov Ta-3, Chyetverikov PPI, and Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-5 (DIS).

History:
The Gr-1 was conceived as a twin-engine monoplane with a conventional structure with twin-tail surfaces and two Mikulin AM-37 water-cooled engines as the power plant. Its general composition resembled that of the German Messerschmitt Bf 110 and presented similar dimensions. The armament consisted of two .30 cal ShKAS machine guns in the nose with two 20mm ShVAK cannon on top of these. Two more ShKAS machine guns were located in the wing roots, and six RS-82 unguided rockets could be mounted under the outer wings. The airplane was completed in 6 months and was ready for testing, but Operation Barbarossa had started. The factory was evacuated and the Gr-1 was loaded onto a train. On the way to the new factory, Stuka dive bombers spotted the train and attacked it. The Grushin Gr-1 was heavily damaged and all of the documents were destroyed. There was no plan of reviving the project throughout the rest of the war.
