Weapon Pack IV (GBU-Bombs)

592 BlueHellfire  1.1 years ago

Fourth pack is finally out! Even if there are only a few bombs in it, this was the hardest package to create so far. (Spent hours per bomb making the shape i am happy with) Hope you guys really like it. :)
In this pack I built the following GBU-Bombs:
- GBU-31(V)3/B
- GBU-32(V)1/B
- GBU-38
- GBU-54
I also upgraded my existing Mk-84 model and the BLU-117 model. Now these are better shaped and more realistic in my opinion.
Maybe I'll add a Paveway-Pack in the future, not sure right now.

To release the bombs from your plane you have to lock a (ground) target like a missile and push the weapon release bottom until the green square turns red. The Bomb will drop and navigate to your target.
Please note that the GBU bombs have not a own propulsion and the range of these bombs are therefore dependent on the speed of the aircraft. You should not drop the bombs too far from your target!
Unfortunately, GBU-31 and GBu-32 don't work properly yet. I will fix this in future. However, you can still use them as decorations for your creations.

I hope I have add a bit more realistic to this game again with that pack.
GBU means "guided bomb unit" and is actually a system that conventional Mk (and BLU) bombs are fitted with to make them more accurate. The improved bombs are also called "smart bombs" and are precision guided munition (also known as "joint direct attack munition" - JDAM). The guidance system ist mostly based on Laser/Infrared-Seeker or GPS Systems.
Feel free to use these bombs on your creations! (But please mention my name if you share a creation with the bombs on it, thank you.)

Disclaimer: The labels on the bombs are based on real bomb labeling, but the exact words or numbers (e.g. the Lot Nr.) are entirely fictitious. The plane I used in the screenshots is one of my creations.

@wfy312 Okay I see, I tried a different but in some respects quite similar method as you may have seen. However, your method seems more reliable and more professional to me, I'll give it a try in future. Thanks for the link!
And no worries about your English, mine is also not the greatest to be honest^^

@BlueHellfire Here are some of my suggestions and methods. Put missile and bomb together and let them have the same name. Input -1 into the Armed Group of bomb. Input -FireWeapons into the Armed Group of missile.Set the missile's lockTime to 0. Set the missile's max TargetingAngle to 360.And you'll also have to test it yourself a few times based on your weapon, and adjust it based on the results. For example, increase or decrease the weight of the counterweight.Pay attention to put the missile and counterweight together near the center of gravity of the bomb.
