M.S.S O.C2 Missile Corvette

The O.C2 Class Missile corvette is a budget, anti-aircraft platform, based off the chassis of a stripped tow boat, that may or may not be MWBS’ current Capital ship.

It features 16 surprisingly cheap but incredibly powerful MLRS cells, and 2 150mm guns.

Due to the low budget of the MWBS Naval Forces, it is powered by a 30 KW home blackout prevention generator. The turrets must be manually aimed due to the low power production of the ship, but we still managed to fit an auto loader into the turret.

We managed to fit some high civilian grade radar and tele-communications equipment.

Current cost per unit is only about $4 million USD and the current cost to run the vessel, including maintenance and fuel costs, is $32.56 a week… wow

@OrangeConnor2 well, we never sailed the vessel, the captain of the ship is complaining about “we’re Graingys #1 enemy” and “this tiny ship won’t do anything against Graingys Naval and Air forces” yadda yadda yadda.

That’s the price of it just sitting in dock.

(Tbh I just stole the Fillets hull and repurposed it, my next few ships will using modified Fillet hulls.)

The engine is in fact 30 KW. 31.5 to be exact.

The missiles may or may not’ve been stolen blueprints from an Arleigh Burke class destroyer. We sent in the same operator that retrieved the nuclear warhead for us, and he came back with the exact details of the missiles. Not sure where he’s getting his intel as he’s a dog, but he is a bright one.

We used lower grade propellant, wood instead of metal, updated the guidance systems OS, and stuck it in the ship.

The engine and the cannon being linked? That’s just pure incompetence. I didn’t bother to check if the propellers had a control to its pitch, and linked the turret to the same control.

I will attempt to fix it in a next version… if there will be a next version

Again, great to see this here. While there's clearly work that needs doing (and sources to verify, and math that needs checking as I do NOT believe that weekly budget in the slightest) this is looking like a good sign for things to come. It's no Morrayge, but the implications for our naval power are wonderful.

    Hm.
    Notes:
Good to see, of course. Some support is great.
The scale, however, could use adjustment. The bridge, doors, and railings are far too small to fit humans. May need to be re-fitted. Remember, the seat part has a projection of a human if you need help scaling things.
The propeller pitch and turret turning seems to be controlled by the same VTOL action group. This is, of course, not goo as it impedes use greatly. Needs fixing.
The missiles are concerning. Where are we getting these? These things are clearly highly advanced with very high range. Tell me elsewhere how much these things cost, because I'm suspicious of who'd supply these at anything approaching fitting in a $4 million budget.
That weekly operating cost is also suspicious. This thing isn't being pedaled by monkeys, is it? That's dirt cheap for a lot of kit. You may have forgotten to switch a few units. Running efficiently with minimal ammo use (and no replacement missiles) would surely be a thousand times that. Remember, a cubic meter is 1000 liters! I've made those mistakes before and paid dearly for it.
It's quite quick despite the low power output. In fact, it has a lot of systems. Are you sure this thing only has 30kw? There's no shame in admitting to using a salvaged engine from another ship, so long as it's being done safely.
The guns concern me. Incredible muzzle velocity, fast firing, absolutely tiny. The breach must be the size of my thumb to fit in those turrets. And you say it's autoloaded? There's no way something that tiny is safe. I greatly recommend we find other cannons. Even if they're heavier, slower, and less punchy, the decreased risk of blowing up spectacularly (and likely also cheaper ammo)
    Any other nitpicks... Doctrine!
This isn't really the fault of the ship, rather our procurement. This vessel, while definitely an asset for its big guns and air defense abilities, seems rather similar to a beefed-up Fillet class (side note: could use a name methinks). The Fillet, despite our need for speed, is not fast. That's on my, obviously, but it's a trawler. A hole is made with lightening speed, and the trawler comes in to exploit it. This thing would make a great heavy escort for the slower vessels, but for taking the fight more to Eel Protectorate assets I think we could still use something bigger.
I say a carrier of some sort. What do you say?
