-- Departing Wright Airport

This bird is nearly complete, rudder and RAT deployment is still unavailable. Gear braking needs work, and so does stability. I wanted the cockpit to be immersive, where it's all there, without the need for the in-game hud (except for the VTOL slider for gear tilling). It's fairly rudimentary, but far more detail-oriented than my previous builds. My goal is to introduce heading-select, altitude-hold and auto-throttle, as soon as I figure that out and properly implement it, into one of my next few builds, as well as a more elaborate electric system and start-up sequence. Stability will needs a bit of work but not too bad.

-- Important Labels
1 - Engine start-up panel
2 - Gear brake (further instructions are on the consul panel)
3 - Thrust reverser sleeve safety release
4 - Parking brake enable
5 - Roll trim... to help with her gentle pull to port

Important Notes (please review):

  • Airbrakes have massive aerodynamic affects, never deploy greater than 25% at speeds greater than 320 knots; doing so may cause catastrophic destabilization.

  • Flaps/Slats have massive aerodynamic affects, never deploy greater than 10 degrees at speeds greater than 300 knots; doing so may cause catastrophic destabilization.
    (a) This craft uses slotted flaps, designed to produce more drag than lift, use appropriately.

  • Engines MUST be allowed to finish sequencing before engaging thrust, to guarantee balanced acceleration, this takes about 15 seconds.

  • Rotate at 195 knots, and V2 at 200 knots. Gear brake is pretty hefty so I can assure you this bird will stop when you tell it to.

  • Visual warning system is in place (calibrated for Wright Airport), it will alert you when your angle of attack exceeds +/- 19 degrees, bank angle exceeds +/- 15 degrees, or approaching a stall.

  • Her tail number N262AB is currently assigned to a GLASAIR III (SH-3R), but my plane here is fictional so I think it'll be okay.

  • The levers to open the doors are just behind the captain's seat.
