Forel 1903-1911
Forel - Trout (Rus.)

Forel is the first submarine built in Germany. It was implemented by the Krupp company in 1903, designed by the Spanish engineer Raymond de Aquileia. In 1904, it was donated to the Russian Empire in connection with the Submarine Research Treaty. The gift is estimated at 100,000 Russian gold rubles. The submarine was transported to Kronstadt, from where it was transported to Vladivostok. Forel never managed to fight, however, according to many officers of that time, she played a psychological role and helped intimidate Japan.
In 1910, the Forel was damaged and landed on the shore. The fate of this submarine remains a mystery, but most likely it was dismantled for metal after the Great October Revolution.
