"Hunt 'em down." -Unofficial Motto of the Artemis

Lore
Overview
The D-18F Artemis is a Lykanian 4-generation multirole fighter aircraft designed for the Lykanian Air Force (LKAF) and the Provincial Guard. Development for a lightweight, efficient, and affordable aircraft began in the early 1970s to serve alongside the D-17F Apollo. In 1975, the first prototype of the D-18F took flight. The aircraft proved extremely capable, with its extreme agility, efficiency, and reliability. The Artemis has been subject to numerous modernization upgrades and enhancements, extending its service life well into the 2040s.

Background and Development
Development for an efficient and reliable multirole platform began in 1970. Development of the D-17F was already in full swing, but upon realizing that the Apollo would not have a cheap backup, the LKAF immediately began to develop a lightweight fighter. In 1973, Drakon Dynamics submitted their proposal, the result of Project Athena. The first prototype of Athena took flight in March of 1975. Upon seeing its performance, the LKAF awarded Drakon the contract. The aircraft was then designated as the D-18F Artemis, after the goddess of the hunt.

Operational History
The Artemis officially entered service in 1979. They would not see combat until 1989, where D-18Fs ran wild weasel missions during the Sierra Verde Intervention, clearing the way for more heavily armed D-17s. In 2013, a few D-18s made the trip halfway across the planet to participate in Operation Dagger's Tip, during the Mawali incursions. As Lykanian 5th generation fighters began to enter service, like the D-07F Nyx II and D-49F Osiris II, many D-18s were placed on reserve or turned into trainer aircraft for future LKAF pilots. Many D-18s entered service with Lykania's Provincial Air Guards, guarding the skies of Lykania's 9 provinces. Since then, they've been involved in numerous incidents, primarily intercepts of civilian aircraft in breach of protocols. In 2020, many D-18s in both the LKAF and in Provincial Guards were called back in response to the Cascadian Uprising. While any D-18s were damaged, none were lost. In 2025, during the War in Siana, D-18s valiantly fought against Cascadian D-18s and Libertine aircraft. However, between the months of November and January, nearly 29 D-18s, belonging to both the LKAF and Provincial Guards, were shot down or destroyed in missile attacks. In January of 2026, the D-18s of the Eastern Provinces played a crucial role during Operation November Ajax, which would result in the expulsion of all Cascadian and Libertine forces in Lykania.

Gameplay
Here it is: my second 4th gen. For this one, I was trying to go for something similar to an F-16. In the end, I took inspiration from the F-16, the Gripen, and the P-996 Lazer from GTA V. It's nothing too crazy, just a simple, lightweight, efficient fighter. Ag. 1 will give you lights. Ag. 2 will lower the arresting hook. Just like the Apollo, the Artemis ISN'T a naval aircraft, but you could probably still land it on the chonk that is the USS Beast. Ag. 3 will jettison your fuel tanks and weapons. You know, for whatever good reason. And finally, Ag. 7 will open the canopy. Just like the Apollo, if you want to use a version without the cockpit and save some PF, you can download This version. Alright, then. That's everything. Enjoy.
