MIG-5 is a prototype low-wing fighter (low wing) Soviet Union during World War II. Naming assignment MiG-5 kept for the production version of the plane. The aircraft is also devoted to the development of reconnaissance and bomber versions, but these plans interrupted by the German invasion of Russia in June 1941. The project was canceled due to engine failure, Mikulin AM-37, and the performance is disappointing when the second prototype has been built using a radial engine Shvetsov Ash 82. The project was canceled in 1943 after at least two prototypes are built. Wikipedia
