LA T30 BM2

60 LibouzianAviation  2.0 years ago

Lore:

The LA T30BM2 is another modernization of the already existing T30BM which was undertaken in the late 1960’s and early 70’s in an attempt to keep the Soviet and primarily Libouzian airforces relevant in the rapid developement of jet technology in the era. The BM2 was meant as a last ditch attempt to bring a late 1950s design to the standards of the 1970s with new avionics and weaponry, as newer fighter projects that were underway at the LA design Bureau were no where near completion and would need several more years to be ready. The BM2 represents the last aircraft of the T20/T30 Light fighter series, having several upgrades compared to the previous BM variant, namely being the incoorperation of a Navigation system and a small Heads up Display, giving the pilot more situational awareness. Furthermore, the canopy has been completely redesigned to offer more room for the pilot and to give the fighter better aerodynamic properties. The range has been further extended and the onboard radar system has been modified to carry the latest Z60M dogfight missiles to give the jet a better chance at dogfighting more modern enemies. The jet retains the high agility of its predecessor and its high performance engine which is the key factor to it being able to stay relevant in air engagements in its era.
