The third entry in the 1956 FAF Interceptor contest, the Stargazer was the expected winner. However, constant delays and technical difficulties conspired against such a beautiful design. After losing the contest, the prototype found new life as an X plane flying in behalf of NASO, and the whole program became the basis of the Federal Navy XAF Project (1967)
