ZAF-404 "TigerShark"

The "Tiger Shark" is a Carrier-Based, Air-Superiority Fighter with limited ground attack capabilities. It is designed to defend naval forces from both air and sea born threats. It is capable exceeding Mach 2 with full afterburners and can cruise at 1000 kph. Its most notable feature is its variable wing geometry, which allows it to make low-speed carrier landings and access extra maneuverability, at the cost of stability, for close quarters dog fights. The tiger shark is also endowed with an advanced Heads Up Display which allows the pilot to monitor the aircrafts systems during flight.

HUD

The TigerShark's Advanced HUD gives the pilot important information about the Aircrafts Systems

*Warning lights:
There are two red lights on either side of the crosshair structure. They flash rapidly when the aircraft is close to the ground and the gear are retracted, the aircraft is flying below 200KPH IAS (It's approximate stall speed with full forward wing sweep) and the gear is retracted or when the aircraft is experiencing more the 9Gs of acceleration.

*Indicator lights:
There are four indicator lights on the left of the HUD, these are their colours and meanings from top to bottom.

-The Aircraft is above the backwards wing sweep speed (Green)
-The Aircraft is Below the flap speed (Green)
-The Afterburners are active (Red)
-The Arresting hook is deployed (Orange)

*Systems indicators:
On the bottom right of the display there is a "plane" made up of five indicator lights. These are their functions.

-The "Engines" indicate whether or not the aircrafts Engines are on
-The "Wings" indicate whether or not the automatic wing-sweep and flaps system is active
- The "Nose" indicates whether or not the landing gear are down.

*Weapons Systems indicators:
Above the systems indicators is the weapons systems indicator, also plane shaped. It allows the pilot to keep track of what weapons systems are active. These are the functions of the indicators.

-The "Nose" indicator is for the main cannon, mounted to the left of the cockpit, which is armed in both groups.

-The Middle two indicator are for air to surface weapons.

-The outer two indicators are for air to air weapons

-The orange indicator bellow the "Plane" blinks when countermeasures are fired.

Armaments

The TigerShark has a total of 10 hardpoints. 8 on the wing and 2 between the engines.

The wing hard points (red) rotate as the wing sweeps to maintain a forward angle, because of this they are not suitable for heavy ordinance (large bombs, cleavers, torpedos). The wing pylons are designed for missiles and rockets primarily however small bombs can also be mounted.

The two centre hard points (Green) are fixed and can accommodate all large ordinance.

The Tiger sharks also has A machine gun (Orange on the left) and a powerful canon (Orange on the right) as well as countermeasure dispensers towards the rear of the aircraft.

Flight and Controls
Activation Groups:
1- Engines
2-Auto Wing sweep and Flaps
3-Arresting Hook
4- Afterburners
7-Ejection seats and parachutes

Sliders:
VTOL Up- Wing sweep (If AG2 is deactivated)
VTOL Down- Flaps (If AG2 is deactivated)
Trim - Trim

Flight instructions:
It is recommended that you take off from the USS beasts catapult. Be sure to activate the engines and auto flaps and sweep (or control them yourself with VTOL and AG2 off). Auto flaps and sweep is optimized for catapult takeoff and i would recommend manual control if operating from a runway to prevent flaps retracting before takeoff.

Lands like any other plane. Auto flaps and sweep is recommended for as sweeping forward and deploying flaps can be tedious and needs to be done at the right speed to avoid a loss of stability. Obviously deploy hook for carrier landing.

Sweeping the wings forward during normal flight (by turning off ag2) can give you better maneuverability at the cost of stability. Do not engage afterburners with wings swept forwards.

Creator's Note: This aircraft is pretty heavily inspired by the F-14 Tomcat and the F-111 Aardvark. It is my first planes with a proper HUD (which I think I did pretty well with) and my first plane with basic funky trees in my inputs.
