Street Chassis SC-TR01

26.3k BRuthless  8.0 years ago

This night I had to meet the painful world of small parts in tight spaces again. Yes, it took a whole night to make a working fully independent suspension that works exactly like a real one and make a working chassis out of that (the last part was easy).

This is meant for normal street cars and sports cars with a fairly comfortable but track-ready configuration. All shocks are at 300% damper strength and 400% spring strength, that is due to the construction. I could make it have the same stiffness with less force and without XML-modding, but that would take up more space. If you want stiffer or lighter shocks, you have to XML-mod it yourself or tell me how you want it and i'll upload a version with the settings you want.
The chassis has rearwheel-drive and each of those two wheels is powered by it's own 600 HP engine, which kind of works like a differential, as both wheels can have a different power split this way. All heavy things are built around the center to place the center of mass pretty much in the middle of the chassis. The fuel-tank carries 142 gallons of high-octane fuel, so you should be good even for longer journeys.

I didn't do a topspeed test, but on the track I reached 230 MPH.

Throttle is controlled with throttle input and steering is controlled with roll input.

I hope you can make some nice cars with this. As it took plenty of time to build, it would be nice if you gave me credit in the descriptions of the builds you make with this.
Feedback and suggestions are appreciated.
Cheers! :)
