Tulyev TU-95XM – Long-Range Strategic Missile Bomber
The Tulyev TU-95XM is a long-range strategic bomber developed by Tulyev Design Bureau in Russiya during the 1950s. Designed for extended-range nuclear missions during the height of the Cold War, it quickly became a symbol of heavy airborne deterrence.
Powered by 4 × Kuzenov ZK-11 turboprop engines, each driving 8-blade contra-rotating propellers, the TU-95XM combines long endurance with reliable performance across vast distances.
The XM variant is specialized for intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) delivery, capable of carrying some of the world’s most powerful ICBMs, including advanced strategic payloads. It can also be equipped with the devastating Putin 1 Bomb, one of the most powerful weapons in Russiya's arsenal.
Defensive armament includes 2 × 50mm rear-mounted cannons, offering protection from pursuing aircraft.
While the TU-95XB variant focuses on bomb delivery, the TU-95XM remains in active service today, continuously upgraded to carry modern missile systems and operate in strategic long-range roles.
