VenAvia Boeing 787-9

VenAvia introduced the Boeing 787-9 in 2016, making it the airline’s first and only Dreamliner variant. The aircraft was selected as part of VenAvia’s long-haul modernization program, replacing aging A330 and 767 aircraft.

Fleet

As of 2025, VenAvia operates 12 Boeing 787-9s.
The airline has never operated the 787-8 or 787-10 as its initial Dreamliner type, although 787-10s joined later.

The 787-9 remains VenAvia’s long-haul flagship.

Operational History

2016–2017: Entry Into Service

The first 787-9 was delivered in late 2016.

Entered service on major long-haul trunk routes such as:

Erebus – Nicopolis

Erebus – Huberton (Ratania)

Erebus – Lausmore

The aircraft debuted VenAvia’s next-generation “DreamSpace” cabin featuring:

Lie-flat business suites

Enhanced humidity/pressure comfort

Updated IFE and mood lighting

2018–2021: Network Expansion

Additional 787-9s allowed VenAvia to expand into secondary long-haul markets, consistent with VenAvia’s identity as Perland’s leading secondary-service airline.

New routes included:

Erebus – Dürsenfjord (Niceland)

Erebus – Marovik (Armavia)

Erebus – Kramshov (Northern Ratania)

The 787-9 replaced less efficient widebodies on routes that needed long range but not the capacity of larger aircraft.

2022–2024: Cabin Refresh & Brand Update

From 2022, the 787-9 fleet underwent a soft cabin upgrade:

New-generation IFE

Updated lighting themes

Improved economy seating

In 2023, the 787-9 became the first VenAvia aircraft to adopt the refreshed corporate livery.

Notable Events

2020: Engines inspected during the global Trent 1000 campaign; VenAvia avoided long-term groundings.

2023: Entire 787-9 fleet retrofitted with new branding and interior styling.

Current Status (2025)

The 787-9 is VenAvia’s primary long-haul backbone, deployed on:

High-demand international routes

Strategic secondary long-haul destinations

Core business links between Perland, Niceland, Ratania, and Armavia

The aircraft is expected to remain central to VenAvia’s fleet strategy until at least the mid-2040s.
