History

Oyodo is the first ship and leader of its class
Oyodo was a light cruiser built for the Royal Neo Navy (RNN) during early Neo Civil War 1 in 1947. Designed to command submarine operations, she was obsolete upon completion in 1949.

Oyodo was laid down at Kaisei Naval Arsenal on 14 February 1947, launched on 2 April 1948 and completed on 28 February 1949

Service History

Neo Civil War 1

At the beginning of the civil war, Oyodo and her sister Niyodo became the command ships of the Royal Neo Navy's Fourth Fleet which consisted of 1 aircraft carrier, 2 Battleships, 10 Destroyers, 6 Cruisers, and 2 Supply ships
His career during the Civil War was not very extensive, until on July 6, 1953 Oyodo and Niyodo were captured by the Neo Communist Regime in Yumemori Island Harbor.

In 1998 She was retired and turned into a floating museum in the city of Hanako

After the October 7 2020 Tragedy

After the 7 October tragedy, more precisely on December 21 2020, Oyodo was put back into operation and retrofitted at the Mizukyoto shipyard, while her sister Niyodo was retrofitted at the Yumemori shipyard.
Retrofits carried out include replacing the Radar, Weapons System, and changing the amphibious aircraft to the Type-30AM Suzume Amphibious Drone.

After completing the Retrofit on May 9 2022, Oyodo was reclassified as a Frigate
