La-9 fighter is the last generation of single seat piston fighter developed on the basis of la-7 fighter by the former Soviet Union's lavochkin Design Bureau in mid-1944 after the end of World War II. The prototype machine assembly was arranged in the 21st factory in Gorky (now renamed lower novgrod city). The prototype machine without any armed la-9 (code named la-130 in the design bureau) made its first flight on June 16, 1946, put into mass production in November 1946, and began to equip the army in 1947.
