Description
The Vought F6U Pirate was an early carrierborne jet fighter employed in the US Navy. It made history as the first jet aircraft to feature an afterburner, but was still relatively underpowered for an aircraft of its type. It was used lightly in the Korean War but never saw particularly widespread service.
