The U-96 Reconnaissance Aircraft was a Top Secret U.S.A.F. spy plane with high speed escape thrusters that was designed for Mid-range, High-altitude missions to observe hostile activity wherever needed. It's first test flight happened at an unknown date, yet after its 2nd test flight in October of 2067 and its 3rd test flight in December of 2067, it was decided that it would not be put into service due to its lack of maneuverability and the major difficulty pilots had landing the aircraft. The U-96's design blueprints were destroyed but a file was kept locked in an office that was destroyed in a terrorist bombing. Therefore, this is sadly the ending of any evidence that the U-96 ever existed.
