Background

The MIM-223 Trial II is a Federation surface-to-air missile/anti-ballistic missile system intended to replace the MIM-120 Kalinka missile system currently in use. The MIM-223 is under development by the Greyhound Systems and Tadei, the system was employed in 2015. Its ballistic defense characteristics are similar to the THAAD system of the US.

The MIM-223 is a next-generation surface-to-air missile system. Designed for interception and destruction of intercontinental ballistic missiles, as well as hypersonic cruise missiles, aircraft, AWACs and jamming aircraft. With a planned range of 680 km for anti-ballistic missile and 550 km for the air defense, the MIM-223 would be able to engage 4 ballistic hypersonic targets flying at a speed of 7 kilometres per second to a limit of 9 km/s. It aims at destroying hypersonic cruise missiles and other aerial targets at speeds of higher than Mach 5, as well as spacecraft. The altitude of a target engaged can be as high as 180–230 km. It is effective against ballistic missiles with a launch range of 3,500 km, and the radar reaches a radius of 3,000 km (1,300 km for the EPR 0,1 square meter). Other targets it has been announced to defend against include: unmanned aerial vehicles, low-orbit satellites, space weapons launched from hypersonic aircraft, drones, and hypersonic orbital platforms.

Based off the S-500 System with improvements.
