VZ-282 is one of the first helicopters and the first designed specifically for the army, developed by Von Zeppelin (VZ) under the direction of its founder, Anton von Zeppelin, one of the leaders in the development of aircraft.
The VZ company rose during the EW1 on the development and construction of airships for Imperial Alliance, and then, on the initiative of the count, the development of the first helicopters and airplanes began. When the model of the future helicopter was presented to the top military leadership, the emperor himself allocated funds to create a prototype.
The first use of the VZ-282 took place during the Battle of Siegval Line. Despite the fact that those helicopters themselves didn’t eliminate many enemy forces, with their support, the Imperial tank brigade regain lost positions. Later, they managed to repel two more attacks on that sector. In the course of this battle, the Federation lost two Ranger platoons.
