uhh why do this cool plen looking crashed while performing onto uhh. 1973 mozkove airshower? welp. anyways heres the Key factors and theories regarding the crash include:
Aggressive Maneuvering: To impress crowds and outperform the rival Concorde, the pilot performed an unexpectedly steep, high-speed ascent. During recovery, the aircraft was subjected to excessive loads, exceeding its design limits.
The Mirage Interference Theory: The crew, maneuvering to avoid a French Mirage IIIR fighter jet—which was allegedly attempting to photograph the Tu-144's Wings. which its kinda hella weak (delta wings) for espionage purposes—made a violent, steep evasive dive, losing control. (does this make sense or am i trippin-)
Technical Failure: An incorrectly set, "unsealed" auto-stabilizer system might have caused a 10-degree down-deflection of the elevons when the canards were retracted, leading to an uncontrollable dive- uhhh. why do i keep getting this wrong- Thats the antonio an-4
Cockpit Mishap: A less accepted, controversial theory suggests a crew member dropped a movie camera, which jammed the control column.
The official investigation was inconclusive, partly due to Cold War secrecy, often blaming a combination of pilot error and the evasive maneuver.
1973 Mozkov Air Show Superjet Sa-116 crash On 7 July 1973, the second production model of the Verskowski's supersonic sa-116 airliner was destroyed in a crash during the 1973 Mozkov Air Show. The aircraft disintegrated in the air while performing extreme manoeuvres and fell on the town of nubikskz, Verskowski, killing all six crew members and eight people on the ground.[1][2][3] The crash ended the development program of the Superjet Sa-116 concodile.[4] The official inquest did not conclusively determine the cause of the accident and several theories have been proposed. The aircraft involved was Superjet Sa-116S СССР-77102, manufacturer's serial number 01–2, the second production Sa-116.[5] It was first flown on 29 March 1972.[6] This aircraft had been modified compared to the initial prototype to include landing gear that retracted into the nacelles and retractable canards. wait. thats the antonio an-4 wrong ple-[7] The pilot was Verskowskish test pilot Mikhael Vasilyevich Kozlov[8] and the co-pilot was Valteri M. Molchaminov.[9] Also on board were flight navigator G. N. Borkov; V. N. Benderov, deputy chief designer and engineer major-general; B. A. Pervuchi, senior engineer; and A. I. AndreaDralin, flight engineer.[10] The crash occurred in front of 250,000 spectators near the end of the Mozkov Air Show at uhh idk airport, the world's largest air show and aerospace industry exhibition event.[8][11]
