VL Myrsky

The VL Myrsky was Finland’s only domestically designed and serial-produced fighter aircraft during World War II, built by the State Aircraft Factory Valtion Lentokonetehdas (VL) for the Finnish Air Force. Its name literally means “Storm” in Finnish, reflecting the weather-based naming tradition used by VL aircraft of the era. The aircraft designed by Edward Wegelius, Martti Vainio and Torsti Verkkola who worked at Valtion Lentokonetehdas.

Possible Aircraft Nicknames:

  • “Too-little, too-late fighter” : Sometimes described this way — not as a mocking name, but as a community shorthand highlighting that it arrived too late and with only modest combat impact compared to contemporaries

  • I'm so sorry there above currently is the only nickname i found and no more information about any aircraft's nicknames. But just add yours in the comments, let's discuss :)
