At the dawn of the 20th century, humankind took to the skies, striving to become the fastest bird. Over distant Europe, biplanes and rigid airships already patrolled the heavens, while tensions between the great powers simmered, edging the world toward war. As a formidable industrialized empire, the Great Ming followed the global trend of military preparation. Recognizing that reliance on imported aircraft and airships from nations like Germany was unsustainable, the Emperor and the Imperial Constitutional Council issued a decree. The Anyang Machinery Manufactory was tasked with producing the Empire's first indigenous military aircraft. Thus, the "Eagle-1" biplane was born.

Aircraft Shenwei-396 was bestowed the codename "Lanfang", symbolizing the radiant pearl of the Empire's southern seas—a prosperous and open global hub.

Decommissioned after its service, Shenwei-396 now rests in an aviation museum, silently bearing witness to that complex chapter of history.

Meaning of Markings & Insignia:

蘭芳: Lanfang, or the Presidential Republic of Lanfang, located in western Kalimantan. It was the administrative center of the Jiugang Pacification Commission.

大明靖德三十六年 安陽械製所: Manufactured by the Anyang Machinery Manufactory in the 36th year of the Jingde reign of the Great Ming (1912 AD).

神威-叁玖陆: Shenwei-396 (Serial Number).

The air force roundel is a red Eight-Polar Sun-Moon emblem flanked by wings.

The national flag on the tail is a red field with a golden, circular dragon pattern.

AG1: Forward-fixed machine guns (Pilot).

AG2: Electrically-controlled rear defensive machine gun (Gunner).

AG7: Releases all four wing-mounted bombs at once (Gunner).

AG8: Engine Start/Stop.

神威-396号退役后，现陈列于某航空博物馆内，见证着那段复杂的历史。
