Overview

The battlecruiser ANS Kizerium is one of the most powerful capital ship in the world. She carry a very large arsenal of weapons and feature advance electronics. She is the pride of almost any fleet she is apart of. Her presence is a powerful messenger of Arsenian naval supremacy.

Development

In the years after the war with Ursean, the Arsenian navy would began a modernization in an effort to replace the loss incurred from the war. In the war it was found that the Arsenian navy lack competent method of offense. This was due to the lack of dedicated attack platform. As such in 1985 the development of a new strike ship was launched.

The new ship would be designed as a large missile carrying platform. Her large size was decided due to lobbying by Capitalle Shipbuilding who were in need of orders after completing a series of aircraft carrier for Arsenia and her Allies. Her design would make extensive use of VLS. To power this behemoth 2x nuclear PWR were used. Her design would make use of existing technology and design principles as such her development proceed quickly. By 1986 her design was finalized and construction of the first 5 ship would began simultaneously.

The construction of the first 5 ships would be done by 1989 and immediately after another 5 were ordered. The fleet was growing old, and new ships were needed. Most of the new ships would be replacing the Flodon and Freka class missile cruiser built in the 50s and 60s. As a result more and more ships were ordered throughout the 80s and 90s. At the end of 1999 the last ship of the class began construction and in the end there is 30 ships in the class.

Design

Displacing 31.000t and carrying a very large arsenal, her 2x nuclear reactor allow for a top speed of over 32 knots. She houses 224x of the smaller MDS-50C VLS Cell, and 136x of the larger MDS-53B VLS cell equipped with the ASM-40N Hammer, and 6x silo for ASM-50N Starfall anti ship ballistic missile. She would also be equipped with 2x MK-15 8 Inch Single turret. She was designed to be able to operate in independent mission. She incorporated advance surface search radar allowing her to find and destroy ships alone and advance air search radar for detection of enemy missile and aircraft. Her extensive arsenal is enough to destroy whole battle group and makes her the prime target in any battle. For that she is equipped to defend herself with advance air defense system and an extensive point defence setup. For point defence she has a large number of type 2 and type 3 CIWS. While her longer range missile is the AAM-220 Trolls and AAM-200 Orcs.

Service

The lead ship of the class ANS Kizerium would be launched in 1988 and commissioned in 1989. She wasn't the pride of the navy with the larger battleship and battlecruiser still in service. She was paraded around the world as a triumph of Arsenian might. Eventually in 1990 she was sent to Africa to take part in the Continental War. The war involved the Ursean, Ordosan and Arsenian military taking part in a series of wars and conflict.

Her service would be tainted by the massacre of Leonard sea where 21 ships and where over 3000 men perish in a disasterous ambush. She was heavily damaged in the battle and would return to Arsenia for repairs. She would eventually be back at sea again in 1993 after missing out on operations with her sisters in the Ordosan Civil War.

She Would eventually see more action in the Kastorel sea conflict where she would perform many solo mission striking Ursean supply convoy and strike Ursean held island in the dead of night. Her performance in the war would earn her many medals and contribute in the quick end of the conflict. She would left the war with credit for the sinking of 6 supply ships, 2 frigate, and 3 desrtoyer.

Her service would continue on in to the 2020s and is projected to still be in service until the 2040s.
