(This is part of the WW2 Bomber challenge) The B-53 Solo was a late WW2 Jet bomber. It was called the Solo because the pilots thought it could complete multiple missions all by itself. The Solo is equipped with 4 Westinghouse J34 turbojet engines, its can go ~670 miles per hour. Its payload has 12 500lbs bombs and 4 100mm early auto loaded cannons with 2 7.62mm gatling guns. It has foldable wings for smaller hangers. Its wings are built to withstand great speed and can get the aircraft at around 30,000 ft in just a few minutes. It has 2 crew members, the pilot and co pilot. The design was questioned by high ranking pilots, mainly because of the engines. The engines were placed like that because the designers wanted so they were closer together, so if one or 2 went out the spread of the thrust wouldent effect the aircrafts drift. The aircraft on its engines have cone like structures the prevent the aircraft from suffocating on its own air if it went into a dive. It was made in late 1945 as a new medium class jet bomber. And was put into service in December 1945. It was made as a replacement to the B-29 to gain better speed and capability. It was a new age of bomber and kick started the making of the B-57.

@SanDiegoSystems thank you!
Looking Nice. Great Work.
I just wanted to make something cool if I’m going to be fr
@BOSSentinel stares intensely at screen
@MetallicBeef6572 oop
@BOSSentinel @PilotAlex1010 IAS was 560mph @ 10,000ft fully loaded TAS was 690 @ 10,000... might wanna turn down the power on those engines buddy
@MetallicBeef6572 … ok
@BOSSentinel Hollup, imma do a flight test of this thing
@MetallicBeef6572 they were used, yes, but, jamming was definitely common. And it’s for a challenge, [In the desc]. And if you want a jet bomber, make it WW2 accurate.
@BOSSentinel @PilotAlex1010 tho i will say that 700mph, carrying 12500lbs of ordinance PLUS ammo for all the guns on four ww2 era engines is a bit of a stretch. But then again its a fictional so you can do what you want with it I guess. Otherwise its a pretty good build👍
@BOSSentinel gatling guns were used in ww1, and were developed throughout ww2. Sure its not historically accurate, but it's highly possible that gatling guns could have been used in ww2
@PilotAlex1010 @MetallicBeef6572 and Gatling guns were only widely used after 1959
@MetallicBeef6572 @PilotAlex1010 the only “real” jet bomber of WW2 was the Arado. [Twin engined bomber] with very weak engines, only carrying ~3 500 pound bombs.
Do you know how much a 100mm shell weighs?
@PilotAlex1010 @MetallicBeef6572 but, 4 Autoloading 100mm cannons?
Yup, it works
Yeah it’s late WW2, look at the rules
Uhhh this isn’t WW2
