Amphibious 208 Caravan
Here’s my take on the amphibious Cessna 208 Caravan!
Built for both water and land operations, this version is equipped with floats and retractable landing gear (it's retracted by default when you spawn).
It features a custom livery, a simple cabin interior, and overall smooth handling on both surfaces.
The cockpit is still a work-in-progress — it’s flyable but not fully detailed yet.
Main Features:
-Amphibious floats with retractable gear
-Custom paint scheme
-Lightly detailed passenger area
-Stable water/land performance
About the real aircraft:
The Cessna 208 Caravan is known for its reliability, ruggedness, and ability to operate from short or rough strips. Adding floats turns it into a true amphibious workhorse, capable of reaching remote lakes, islands, and rivers where no runway exists.
Still tweaking and improving it — feedback is always welcome!
Big thanks to Windshifter1 for the providing all the fantastic screenshots!

This is a great looking plane, nicely done, I really like it.
Because this is an unfinished project, I will share my thoughts on this build:
For me flight characteristics are not bad, but it has a lot of inertia on the roll axis, I don't really know why. The flaps doesn't seem to do anything though. And It can't glide far (glide ratio around 4, drag issue)...
Gears are inverted with the Landing Gear input. In addition, the main gear gets out before the gear doors are open.
If I remember correctly, the sort of paddles at the back of the floats can be lowered (by rotation) when you're on the water, so they're fully underwater and have a great yaw authority. But I don't think it's synced with the gear. You could put wings in them so they will provide a good force in the water I think, as it is denser than air.
The flight computer or something is maybe located a bit too low, which gives a weird orbit view...
But overall it's good, I'm looking forward for the finished product !
@windshifter1 ooooooh yeah, I should have specified what plane.
Thanks for the tip with the links and stuff!
@frogbot4000 Oh, you're talking about your plane, not the plane in this post here? If I get some spare time I'll test your craft out and see what I can recommend.
Oh, and to link something just put
[text you want to appear](link)
For example,
[Sea Frog FP-001](https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/HC7bRC/Sea-Frog-FP-001)
becomes:
Sea Frog FP-001
@windshifter1 yeah that's the same ocean mod that I use, do you do anything special with the mod settings?
@Tingly06822 on both sides I would say. The design is really weird so it doesn't have great stability on normal water. It's the Sea Frog FP-001 on my profile, I don't know how to link it in this box.
I'll try to make a video for it and tag you in it.
@AeroTactical thanks
@frogbot4000 I was using this ocean mod to do @Tingly06822 's screenshots. I'm pretty sure you're using the same. I had the exact same issues while positioning the aircraft for the shots, and had to use a very rough workaround.
Tingly, by the way, this post has very similar issues. Slightly better, but will still flip quite often. What did you do in your attempt to fix the issue?
@frogbot4000 is it flipping on its side or back? I had complaints about this before but it should be virtually impossible to flip now, if you can provide a video or something that would help a ton with understanding why this is happening
What kind of ocean mod was used for the screenshots? Anytime I try and float in a modded ocean, my plane flips
Stunning ;)
IT FLOATS LIKE THE TITLE SAYS
Eagerly awaiting the next version.
so beautiful, It deserve a Spotlight
And could you make a version without floats
@tingly06822 it feels like it doesn’t pull up enough with the flaps extended and at landing speed… could u possibly fix the elevator/ flap lift about to a bit more
@AchbyzThePlaneBuilder you can use the ‘Buoyancy’ slider on mobile.
Amazing! Can’t wait to see the finished product!
Nice 4K looking thumbnail!
How you make planes float??
pertty nice picture and plane you
