ATTENTION: If you get an odd and uncontrollable rolling motion, reposition the Wing Landing Gears further outboard. This is a bug that may occur when the fuselage blocks the gears from retracting.

Restarting the Realism Series with a bang! The Do 335 Pfeil was a German multipurpose Schnellbomber and heavy fighter of late World War II. Quite possibly the fastest piston-engined plane of the whole war, the Pfeil was notable for its' unique push-pull configuration.

It is armed with two 20mm MG 151/20 cannon (press 1), and one 30mm MK 103 cannon (press 2). All guns of the Realism Series are XML-modded to reflect how they may have performed in real life; don't let the minigun sound fool you.

Flying the Pfeil is pretty straightforward. It's quite fast, for one. However, careful on the initial pitch-up on takeoff; you can damage your lower tail with a hard pitch. Also, the angled wings begin to produce an upwards pitch moment with high speeds, which you must trim against. I highly suggest using mouse control.

A quick explanation of my Realism Series: The Realism Series aims to closely match real aircraft's flight characteristics by mimicking their mass, wing area, engine power, armament, and size. A flaw of the whole realism series is that they don't replicate real aircraft's drag, for a variety of reasons, meaning most aircraft tend to be a bit faster than their real counterparts. The Realism Series cares little in the way of visual appearance; I don't care if it takes 30 parts or 300, if it gets the aircraft to fly like the real thing (mostly), I'll take it.
