Yokosuka K5Y (Cureng) 1947

30 197thBureau  2.4 years ago

the Yokosuka K5Y was a two seat intermediate trainer aircraft used by the Japanese Navy during World War II. this aircraft in it's original form uses a bright orange paint scheme to distinguish it as a trainer.
the aircraft's design is made almost identical to the real thing with identical size, mass, and engine power. it is painted according to a real aircraft, specifically AURI (now TNI AU) paint scheme for "Cureng" in 1947.

NOTAM:
Act1 turns on engine. a red display light will light up.
Act2 toggles aircraft command between instructor or pilot (aesthetical). a green display light will light up.
Act3 activates aircraft signal lights
Act 4 will drop 2x50 kg bomb as ordnance (this is not available in the original K5Y however in 1947 this aircraft was fitted with makeshift bomb pods by Indonesian pilots)

this aircraft is, first and foremost, a low powered trainer so you won't make any extreme maneuvers with it but it is a stable aircraft and is technically really easy to fly. it can take off from tiny but fuel capacity is rather limited (105L/23,0 Imp Gal)
