The P-3M-5G Destroyer II is a long range, nuclear payload capable strategic bomber. It uses mixed power in two Blade T2000s and two Blasto J50s. Takeoff speed is about 130 mph with full flaps. Landing speed is about 120 with full flaps. At low speeds with flaps all the way down, the plane can be unstable. OPERATION -

The Blackhawk Aero Industries P-3M-5G Destroyer II is a USAF development of the highly successful P-3M-2R Destroyer II anti submarine patrol bomber. The plane was designed and first flown in 1946 as a mixed propulsion bomber to replace the B-29. The plane reached 550MPH at 25,000 FT on its first flight. It was as fast as a jet with the range of a prop and could go farther than the B-29. A twin tailed development was produced in small numbers as the P-3M-5G-TT, the TT standing for Twin Tail. The plane was withdrawn from service in 1996 after 40 years of service.
