Micro Grumman F6F Hellcat (for WalrusAircraft's MicroPlane competition)

5,312 Static  8.5 years ago
Auto Credit Based on WalrusAircraft's Micro Plane Series - Mitsubishi Zero

This is the first plane that I'm posting, and it's one of my favorites! I modified the small Zero provided by Walrus, changing the rear sections to fit the design of the hellcat. I striped off the wings and added some of my own design, as well as creating a new set of horisontal stabilizers and a new vertical stabilizer. I entierly redesigned the cockpit area, conforming it to the Hellcat's original design. It's just under the weight limit for fighters, and has 36 gallons of fuel. It cruises at about 400 mph, and has good manuverability. Taking off is a bit of trouble, but it gets into the air.
Please note that this uses a modded 5x power version of the old propeller engine. Feel free to save it as a subassembly and use it in your own builds!

@simplebuilder get the update, it's amazing. Also, please check out my second version of the plane, it's slightly better.

@Rohan i managed to get it to work, it's now as a successor to your competition. The only real changes are the position of the cockpit, for which i had to change the length of the aircraft. I also lengthened the cockpit and did some aesthetic work. Otherwise, same plane.

@simplebuilder no mods are needed to play this plane. I built it on mobile, i don't actually have the pc edition.

    Take this plane, remove
The cockpit, put the plane and put in sub assembly. Then download the challenge and use the cockpit from this challenge. Its embedded in the body inderneath. Then put the plane on the cockpit and upload! @Static

@WalrusAircraft quick question: how do i make it a successor to @Rohan 's competition post? I tired making it a subassembly and putting it in the template craft, but it wont save the whole plane... Help please?
