XFN-11 "Bat" 5000+ MPH

364 FierceNights  1.9 years ago

Originally conceived as a high speed experimental ICBM interceptor, though it currently lacks speed and maneuverability at high altitude. Backstory: This aircraft was designed to develop a highly advanced type of charged ion surface that pushes air and water vapor away from any part of the plane that is covered with these special surfaces. This essentially creates a hole in the atmosphere around the plane, particularly at high drag locations, making it nearly free of wind resistance. This reduces the need for massive, fuel consuming engines and extends its range of flight. The on-board CPU works with the flight controls to allow control surfaces to function as they normally would, smoothly engaging and disengaging the ion charge where needed. On this prototype, some of these functions are not yet online so landing is incredibly difficult. Due to the effects of the new surface, testing has also shown disruption to the crafts radar signature.

Controls are as follows:
AG1: Airbrake (CRITICAL) use VTOL UP to adjust
AG2: Drop fuel tanks
AG7: Beacons

Top speed achieved by me: 53-5500 MPH > > If you can land this thing successfully, let me know! I recommend starting with a very long approach at 3% power, reduce speed to 250MPH before attempting. Use a combo of throttle control and airbrake. I know, it needs wider landing gear.

Hello!! I already tried your plane, wait for the challenge to finish and it will give the results, for the moment I can say that it is good ;)
