Im proud to post this experimental aircraft that never really got to see the day of light, the YA-9 was designed before the A-10, YA-9 was going to be a CAS aircraft but then the A-10 came around and was just the better choice to go with.

Well I stole the engines off my A10 so that might explain all the power the YA-9 has😂 and I stole my modded gun from my A-10 to the YA-9

You’re on iOS, but this build is very mod-heavy. One mod which would probably helped your realism for this one would have been to cut the engine power; this build accelerates like it has a Saturn V rocket strapped to it!

@ChiChiWerx yeah I totally agree with you, YA-9 did look like the SU-25 FrogFoot, and also I think your right, YA-9 would have done a good job at CAS, but the A-10 was just the way better and more suporior aircraft to go with.

Interesting. Everyone builds the A-10 and no one remembers its competitor in the CAS competition. The A-9 was itself much more similar to the Su-25 in concept, which itself is a fairly useful and robust aircraft. I’m sure the A-9 would have done fine in its intended role, but the A-10 was the superior aircraft at the time.

@GhostHTX yeah the low fuselage engines were so exposed to ground fire, and the way the A-10s engines are placed is just the way to go, I’m so glad that the A-10 was chosen instead of the YA-9😂😂😂

This is nice. The YA-9 competed against the YA-10 and lost. Partly because of politics, partly because of the advantages the YA-10 represented. I seem to remember that the engine placement on the 9 was frowned upon. Low in the airframe as they are, they are exposed to ground fire and debris ingestion. The podded engines in the 10 were looked upon as a better config for the CAS role.

    Very cool build!
