The Morät Jägerwagen Rework, designated as “Dödgrävare” (Grave Digger), is a specialized Scandinavian long-range tank destroyer engineered for extreme terrain warfare. Built on the proven Morätmangön T2 chassis, Dödgrävare features a reworked turret with reinforced frontal armor and an aggressive low-profile design optimized for hull-down sniping. It incorporates a variable suspension system, allowing the entire hull to adjust its posture to the terrain—combined with an advanced 152mm autoloaded main gun capable of -25° depression (operationally limited to -17° for stability). This gives the Dödgrävare unparalleled fire angles in hilly and mountainous regions, further enhanced by rapid hull rotation for repositioning. Due to turret design limitations, traverse is restricted to 100°, but this is offset by the tank’s high mobility and recoil-dampening hydropneumatic system.

Powered by the Alvradrägg V12 Type 2 engine, Dödgrävare boasts exceptional acceleration and off-road performance suited to Northern terrain. Despite its limited armor coverage on the sides and rear, the vehicle’s frontal armor—rated up to 1700 mm RHAe—provides solid protection against enemy MBT fire. Advanced CBN-resistant internal lining and layered composite structures between the turret shells protect the crew from non-conventional threats. The tank supports a three-man crew (commander, driver, gunner) thanks to a fully automated loading system.
