The Altica-Harvey Wildcat is a Winolian Supersonic fighter aircraft developed by the Altica-Harvey Aircraft Corporation through the 1950s and produced from the 1960s right into the 1980s. The fighter was widely exported throughout the African and Asian military spheres and was a successful aircraft in both sales and performance. It is known to be one of the first Winolian fighters capable of Mach 2 and is credited as being the first operational Mach 2 fighter in Winolian service.

The Wildcat development followed Altica-Harvey’s decade long co-operation with the Soviet Union and, specifically, the Mikoyan-Gurevich in the development of interceptors for the Winolian Air Force. Altica-Harvey initially intended to deliver the aircraft before the end of the 1950s but events leading to a loss of technical information and the end of co-operation between them and Mikoyan would delay the introduction of the fighter into service. In spite of this, the company continued the project alone, retrofitting upgraded and remanufactured french engines to the airframe as a stop-gap measure.

The design of the fighter drew its origins from experimental soviet aircraft inspected by Altica-Harvey engineers. Visual and some technical inspections allowed the engineers to lay the groundwork for their own design and tackle issues they saw in the Soviet design. Altica-Harvey and Mikoyan would sign a contract of mutual technological co-operation and, in particular, engine technology transfer which would accelerate the development of the design until it ended due to political issues.

The aircraft is built as a streamlined, low drag delta-wing fighter and the first purpose-built multi-role in Winolian service capable of flying as a fighter, interceptor and strike aircraft. The designers strove for a clean profile, with drag-reducing features and supersonic capability as a requirement. Initial engine issues would limit its supersonic capabilities at altitude and the fuel feed system would be completely redesigned in later variants to better accommodate drop tanks.

A few things I’m really pleased with on this design include the following:
- Missiles have a small delay before igniting to help them clear the pylon
- The cockpit is rather nicely detailed
- The flight model is quite good; I’m still learning to deliver improved flight models with minimal part scaling.
- Flaps work in reverse. I know how to make them work normally but that’ll be on the next design
