The Slasher (So called by early SFR and CIR troops) was an otherwise fairly generic recon autogyro used by an once-major faction that called itself "Nova Evropa". This faction was founded by radical xenophobic groups at the time of the Crumbling, which sprung all over Europe due to the mass migrations caused by climate change, and were often sponsored by elites to suppress dissent as well as the convenient second-class workforce that these refugees became. The Nova Evropan heartlands, and initial territories, were in the South-East of France, where these organizations had built a network of strongholds in the mountainous countryside.

This State's ideological goal was simple: it sought to conquer Europe and rebuild it purged of foreign peoples. They first rose to prominence conquering old South-Eastern France and first clashed with the early SFR before being stopped at the Battle of the Vienne, creating a frozen, low-intensity conflict. During this early period before the NE leadership decided to cross South to conquer the early CIR, which they saw as a peaceful, complacent people incapable of war.

One of Nova Evropa's signs of military powress was their possession of an air force in the form of rotorcraft and airships, of which the Slasher formed a backbone owning to it's easy learning curve and good but not exceptional performance, which made it first a trump card against the various petty populations in the post-Crumbling world and, as other aircraft entered military service, an acceptable aircraft for Dweller pilots. Dwellers were a caste of second-class citizens without formal political power, subject to compulsory military service and granted property rights and personhood. This caste was made formed of people of at least half European descent as per either genealogy or pseudoscience; and formed much of the bulk of the Nova Evropan soldiery, making up the "low-end" of the low-end high-end of Nova Evropa's military.
Dwellers as a caste were seen in Nova Evropan pseudoscience and policy as a product of Crumbling-era racial contamination, but, as they considered the European racial makeup to have been broadly polluted, it was considered possible to "distill" racial Europeans from Dwellers through eugenics by selecting the relevant children for adoption into the all-European Citizen class.
