The VAC-400 Silverfish was a medium jet bomber with a rear gun turret and a small bomb inside. Silverfishes were held in large formations during attacks, with blinking lights on its underwing. These formations contained 50 of the same bomber, with 15 Swordfishes for defence. The bombs were 250 pound dumb bombs, and although they did not do much damage, they packed a punch in small spaces. Silverfishes were used to bomb important areas, including hangars, bunkers, and enemy aircraft fleets on the ground. VAC-400s however had no armor, but fortunately, a VAC-400-VD variant was built, including its armor and more powerful engines to match the armor’s weight.
