MIG-16

The MIG-16 is the second aircraft in my 'Alternate Reality Cold War' series of fighter jets. The aircraft is technically the first in the timeline but it was the second one I actually built. The aircraft shares many of the same characteristics as the F-88 but it is smaller and faster. The aircrafts wings are also raised to the level of the cockpit for increased stability. When flying either the F-88 or the MIG-16, dogfights between the two are always fun. If you'd like to suggest any future series themes or you have a tip for plane design please leave your suggestions in the comments below. I hope you all enjoy the MIG-16! Fly safely and as always, have fun!

Back-story: World War II ends. The Americans successfully demonstrate their incredible air power and weapons technology in the atomic bombings of Japan. Russia, watching from the sidelines, realises that the Americans will not stop to increase their power over the air combat arena. In order to catch the bandwagon the Russians begin an arms race with the U.S. Their first major introduction into the Cold War is the MIG-16. With an airframe built to perfect the turn fighter concept, the aircraft also represents great speed and engine power. The creation and use of this fighter warns the world that the Russians are still in the game of war.
