Overview: the C300 "Soarus" is a semi-tailless general aviation sailplane. The unique design of the Soarus requires the aircraft to have a stability system to prevent overly-aggressive pitch maneuvers, as well as combined Roll/Yaw input to allow for easier turning. The Soarus is also the first Venture Aeronautics aircraft to feature a winch-launch system, which allows for much faster takeoffs and climbs.

Maximum Airspeed (TAS): 125mph, 201kph, 109knots.
Maximum Altitude (UNPRESSURIZED): 12,500ft, 3,810m.
Takeoff Airspeed (IAS)(Full Winch Power): ~40mph, ~64kph, ~35knots. (Use SetWindSpeed 0 3 0 for takeoff. Use SetWindSpeed 0 5 0 for climbing after takeoff.)
Landing Airspeed (IAS): ~35mph, ~56kph, ~30knots. (Use SetWindSpeed 0 0 0 for landing.)
Controls:

-Trim: Trim.
-Throttle: Winch Power.
- Activate1: Tow Cable Release.


NOTES

  • Aggressive pitch-down maneuvers can momentarily destabilize the aircraft, momentarily making the aircraft partially uncontrollable.
  • Roll/Yaw control is combined. Rolling the aircraft also gives yaw input, but the aircraft can also be given yaw control individually.
  • I recommend using 50%-100% trim to keep the aircraft level.
