J-10C: A Versatile Blade of China's Air Force

The J-10C has a length of 16.5 meters, a wingspan of 9.75 meters, a maximum takeoff weight of 19.3 tons, a maximum speed of Mach 2.2, and a combat radius of 1,200 kilometers. In terms of appearance, it adopts a single-engine, single-vertical-tail canard aerodynamic layout. The DSI inlet uses a bump-shaped design to adjust and compress the airflow, which not only reduces weight but also improves air intake efficiency. The fuselage is coated with stealth materials, and the airframe uses composite materials, effectively reducing the radar cross-section and achieving quasi-stealth capabilities.

The J-10C is equipped with a domestic WS-10B engine, with a military thrust of 9.1 tons and an afterburning thrust of 14.5 tons, providing strong power support for the fighter jet and ensuring good acceleration performance and maneuverability. In terms of avionics, the J-10C is equipped with a new active phased array radar with a detection range of over 200 kilometers. It can track 12 targets simultaneously and guide the PL-15 beyond-visual-range missile for precise strikes, with a longer detection range, faster response speed, and stronger anti-jamming capability. In addition, it is also equipped with an advanced integrated electronic warfare system. The cockpit adopts glass coating technology, equipped with a large-size multi-functional display and an advanced helmet display system, providing pilots with clear and intuitive flight and combat data, which helps improve the pilot's situational awareness.

In terms of weapon systems, the J-10C has 11 external hardpoints with a maximum bomb load of 7 tons. It can carry a variety of weapons, including PL-10 short-range combat missiles, PL-12 medium-range air-to-air missiles, PL-15 long-range air-to-air missiles, KD-88 air-to-ground missiles, YJ-91 anti-radiation missiles, LS-16 glide-guided bombs, LS-1500J laser-guided bombs, and can also carry multi-barreled rocket launchers for fire coverage and suppression of large ground targets. A 23mm caliber aircraft cannon is installed on the left side of the fuselage, mainly used for close-range air combat.

The commissioning of the J-10C has significantly improved the combat capability of the Chinese Air Force. It has the capabilities of medium and short-range air superiority and precise strikes against ground and sea targets. It can work closely with other combat forces to undertake the tasks of seizing air superiority and carrying out campaign strikes, comprehensively enhancing the Air Force's all-territory mobility and all-domain combat capabilities. In many military exercises and combat training, the J-10C has demonstrated excellent performance and strong combat effectiveness, becoming a sharp blade of the Chinese Air Force.
