Credit goes to WalrusAircraft and WeeBabySeamus/Jundroo for the original aircraft, Remastered for Simpleplanes VR By yours truly.
almost 10 years ago, Jundroo was working on a new island for Simpleplanes. This island would feature several fun, interactive locations. One of them was a pylon racing course inspired by the Red Bull Air Racing World Series. The problem? WE NEEDED A NEW RACING OPPONENT!!!
The user known as WalrusAircraft answered the call, and brought us This lovely little jem inspired by the Edge 540 piloted by Kirby Chambless and Mathias Dodderer in the RBARWS at the time.
After a little tweaking from WeeBabySeamus aka Kevin Murphy, It was added as hidden stock aircraft n the game, as a racing opponent.
This plane is now set up for VR with an all new interactive cockpit. It takes advantage of several new improvements in the game such as part scaling, weight and drag scaling and fuselage cutting to bring you a fun to fast, fun to fly air racer. It has basic controls so its easy to fly as well.
-main controls are as you'd expect
-VTOL from (-1 to +1) controls elevator trim with full authority so the pilot can maintain attitude weather upright or inverted
-Trim from (0 to +1) controls prop pitch. Prop is set to auto so you have to change it to manual but it's already set up.
AG's!!!
-6 is the canopy
-7 is lights
-8 Is engine master
FLYING TIPS
-when taking off, don't throttle up too fast, or the plane may nose over. it is a tail dragger!
-when landing, try to float over the runway as long as possible, but not to high. you don't want to bounce.
-after some practice, this plane is a master at ground races.
Trivia:
-The original by WalrusAircraft was an average of 3.75 feet longer, taller and wider than the real world aircraft with an empty weight 1370lbs heavier. back then, we didn't have part scaling and ingame xml modding.
-To overcome the above issues and make an opponent that was still plenty maneuverable and capable of aerobatics, Kevin Murphy added an extra pair of wings.
-This aircraft gets rid of the original tail wheel and now has a scale tweaked og landing gear due to glitches causing the wheel it came with to reverse slip.
-The panel has a massive empty spot in to the right of the data cluster, It now has a bear paint scheme, and the wings are flat stabs compared to more detailed wings. this is because it's getting an MFD, decals and new wings once Simpleplanes 2 comes out.
-The plane was renamed to Blue Cow for copyright purposes.
-I did a remaster of it before, but basically forgot to put any VR controls in it and it some how got curated.
-That remaster, somehow got me permanently banned from the Simpleplanes Builders Chat Discord.
THIS PLANE NEEDS DECALS!!!
