LocalCatNamedToroInoue's B-22b Sylex with some adjustments to the fuselage, mainly to actually get it to fly.
Chief modifications include:
- moving the intake nozzles and the landing gear to get the plane to sit on the ground without the nose pointing down
- bigger front wing control surfaces versus smaller rear ones
- some internal rearranging to get the center of gravity moved clearly forward of the center of lift
- increased the number of engines for more power
One thing I deliberately did not do was to get into the XML editor to make the control surfaces multifunctional. This is done in a separate upload: the Sylex demonstrator Phase 2. Check it out to get some ideas about custom XML code for wings and flaps. Then return here or see LocalCatNamedToroInoue's original plane , take what you want from this three airplanes and use it as a base for your own designs.
Some more things to improve:
- Redesigning the fuselage, I also deleted all weapons. If you want to use this plane to blow up things, you have to add your own
- The plane right now has a very limited fuel supply. It would benefit from some extra fuel tanks
- Even with three of the small Blasto J15 engines, the top speed of 400 mph is rather slow for a jet fighter. May be use bigger engines, or increase the number to 5 or more.
I am currently busy with other projects and my involvement with this plane was never planned to extend past getting it to fly in style. So feel free to implement all the changes you want for yourselves
