Fast Passin Gasser

history

Gassers are a class of drag racing vehicles where the suspension is raised to allow suspension travel and fast delivery on throttle. Typically supercharged, and often are older American cars between the 1950s and 60s. Gassers are one of the more unique drag cars and are always a spectical toast any dragstrip.

this dragsters lore

This example known as Hard Rockin was the brain child of Chris Weaver back in 1965. The car was found in a junkyard and after modifications was turned into this gasser. The car saw moderate success and received 10 class wins over its career, and with over 50 head to head wins. In 1987 it was caught in a horrific crash and was nearly totaled. After it was restored it was turned into a show car and serves the rest of its life going to cars shows around the east coast.

specs

  • 1000+HP chevy big block V8
  • 4 speed manual transmission
  • front solid axle leaf spring suspension
  • rear 4 link solid axle suspension
  • rollcage
  • custom front gas tank and framing

builders note: This was just a simple little project i wanted to do and liked how it came out. I've always loved the look of old school gassers and am satisfied with how this one turned out. Interior is nonexistent other than the rollcage as my phone is not allowing more so this is all I have. I love how the engine turned out a well as the suspension but there is room for improvement. Hope you like the car as much as I do! note this is a drag car so its best to keep it straight and not do sharp turns while at speed

keep looking to the stars
