The BK-21 was the first generation of fully commissioned infantry fighting vehicle with amphibious capabilities, and its rugged and classic design led to a number of variants and improvements. The BK-21 was founded in 1954, with the first prototype built in 1958 and equipped with naval and army units in 1960. The vehicle, the most produced No * 4 model, was equipped with a 14.8mm heavy machine gun and was not equipped with other heavy weapons, as its main purpose at the time was to transport soldiers and cover soldiers in simple combat.
