A large, postwar subsonic jet strike bomber, the B-61 Negotiator was armed with twin 23mm autocannons, based off the Russian NR-23, a 23mm tail gunner, and 11 500 lb bombs. With a max speed in level flight of approx. 530 mph, this jet could outtrun many soviet propeller planes and early jets, however, when the MiG 17 and later aircraft went into production, the B-61 was put ou of production in favor of higher speed aircraft.
